Even the best laid plans can hit a snag or two on the big day. Check out the list below for the most commonly forgotten wedding items or tasks:
Items:
- Marriage license & rings (happens more often than you think)
- Pen to sign license
- A paper copy of your vows if writing your own
- Medications the bride/groom may need during the day
- Copy of timeline for photographer, DJ and any day-of helpers
- Phone chargers
- Ice for the bar/beverages (you need a LOT more than you think)
- Vendor meals (many contractually require you to provide)
- Cake plates/forks/napkins
- Box for leftover cake, if not provided by bakery/vendor or is homemade
- Trash cans**
- Emergency Kit (see blog/workshop #25 for my “must haves”)
Tasks:
- Including yourselves and vendors in your guest count
- A parking plan for elderly or disabled guests that can’t walk too far
- A plan to get the bride/groom home/to hotel at the end of the night
- A plan to get the bride/groom back to their vehicle the next day
- A plan to get cards or gifts home
- A plan to light outdoor spaces, including parking area**
- Disposal of trash**
- A plan to clean up at the end of the night
- A plan for rental returns (including the groom’s tux of leaving for honeymoon)
- Rain/heat plan
- Keeping track of gifts received (and who they are from) for writing thank you notes
**These notes usually only apply to weddings on private properties or parks
