Workshop #5: How Early is Too Early to Start Planning?

Sep. 16, 2024

Too early? No such thing. Early planning offers several perks!

  1. The earlier you start, the more likely it is that the vendors you are most interested in will have availability.
  2. Early planning, especially if you are going to have a longer engagement, allows you to budget a little differently. Early planning helps to spread out payments over a longer duration of time, Minimizing the sting of having to shell out large amounts of money at once.
  3. On the topic of budgeting, early planning might also mean you can lock in the current year’s rates with many vendors. Be sure to ask this ahead of time, to ensure your rate will not increase because your wedding is in a year or two after their prices may have increased.
  4.  Planning more than a year in advance also provides a great opportunity to buy seasonal decor at a discount. Having a fall themed wedding and have more than a year to plan? All of that fall decor in the stores will go on sale at the end of the season, allowing you to scoop it up at a much cheaper cost!
  5. Early planning is definitely a stress minimizer! When you have more time to work with and can tackle one major task every week or two, the planning process feels less daunting.
